Indiana Mountain Biking Trails

Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (hmba.org)

Instructions:
Click on a marker in the map or on a name in the list to see more details about the trail.  Use the controls in the upper-left corner of the map to zoom in () or out ().  You may also drag the screen to reposition it.

Trailhead Directions:
I have tried to place the markers directly on the trailhead or trailhead parking lot. The address listed is usually just the mailing address of the park office and is typically not very close to the trailhead. If you can help make these markers more accurate, please let me know.

If you use the Directions button on the trail popup, Google Maps will attempt to provide directions directly to the trailhead. It usually does a good job, but in cases where the trailhead is in a very rural location, I have seen it provide some creative, "off-road" directions. Additional directions and maps can usually be found on the trail's website.

Trail Status:
The following table describes the various trail states. Note, if a status report is more than 2 days old (7 days in the winter months), a question mark is added to the icon to indicate that the information may be stale. The icon color will remain the same as the last reported status. If a status is more than 14 days old, the status will revert to unknown.

The trail is officially closed. Stay off!
The trail is officially open and rideable.
The trails are too soft to ride.
  The trail conditions are unknown.

Check here for the National Weather Service 24-hour rainfall totals for Indiana.

Trail Status Updates:
You can now update the trail status yourself by sending an e-mail to mtb@rulong.com. The subject of the e-mail should be formatted as follows:

<TrailCode> <TrailStatus> <Comment>

Where the <TrailCode> identifies the trail (click on a trail's pushpin to see its code). The <TrailsStatus> is Open, Closed or Avoid. The <Comment> can be anything. Don't include the angle brackets in your e-mail. So to indicate that Westwood should be avoided, the subject of your e-mail should be:

WW Avoid Trails are wet

Its that easy!. Give it a try. Note, it may take up to 5 minutes for the updates to be reflected on the website. Also, anything in the body of the e-mail will be ignored.
